Ages are approximate as students are placed by ability with age in mind.  
However, Pre-Pointe and Pointe classes are by Invitation only and have a set beginning age

Pointe preparation requires a minimum of 1 to 2 years of Pre-pointe classes to gain the specific strengthening necessary to safely wear pointe shoes. 

En Pointe will not place a dancer on pointe until they are at least 12 years of age to protect their growing bones, ligaments and joints. 
Pre-pointe and Pointe Students are required to take a minimum of 2 classes per week.  



*** CLASS DESCRIPTIONS ***
Students are placed according to their age at first
and moved into the best class level if needed after further evaluation. 

Pre-Ballet (3-5 years old) Our pre-school age classes are a magical introduction to dance for the 3-4 year old child. The basic elements of ballet are introduced in a positive and loving way using props such as scarves, ribbons, tiaras, fairy wings, and costumes. Our fun-filled hour class is a wonderful opportunity for a child who loves music and movement to develop a positive attitude toward learning and classroom etiquette. Pre-Ballet classes are taught during school hours. 

Kinder-Ballet (5 years old) Preparatory for classical ballet technique, these classes are designed to develop flexibility, coordination, balance, strength, rhythm, correct posture, and creativity in a fun filled class that builds upon the skills learned in Pre-Ballet. Classes are taught during school hours in the morning and afternoon to coordinate with Kindergarten schedules. 

Ballet I (1st grade) This class builds classical ballet skills through barre and center work while building strength and flexibility and a beginning knowledge of the French Ballet vocabulary.

Ballet II (2nd Grade) This class maintains the format of the beginning classes, but at a more difficult level.

Ballet III (3rd grade) This class maintains the format of the Intermediate classes, but at an increasingly difficult level.

Ballet IV  (4th grade)  This class maintains the format of the Intermediate classes, but at an increasingly difficult level.

Ballet V (5th Grade) Students should have a solid knowledge of ballet technique and terminology.

Pre-Pointe 1 (ages 10 and 11) 2 classes per week required. Must be 11 before January 1st. This is a preparation class that will build strength in feet and ankles for Pointe shoes, increasing stamina and skills. 

Pre-Pointe 2 (ages 11 and up) 2 classes per week required. Must be 12 before January 1st. This is a preparation class that will build strength in feet and ankles for Pointe shoes, increasing stamina and skills.  When they are strong enough they will receive a letter of recommendation to purchase pointe shoes.

Beginning Teen Pre-Pointe (ages 12 and up)  2 classes per week required. This class helps teens to achieve their dreams to dance en pointe. Teenagers tend to learn and catch up quickly, and this class is specifically for teens who are transitioning to ballet to focus on catching up to their peers. 

Beginning Pointe (ages 12 and up) 2 classes per week required.  This class will introduce Pointe technique.  

Intermediate and Advanced Pointe (ages 12 and up) 2 classes per week required. Students must have completed one or more years of Pre-Pointe/Beginning Pointe. Pointe technique is a bit faster, more demanding. Pointe shoes are worn the entire class, twice a week.

*** CLASSES FOR BOYS AND MEN ***

Boys Pre-Ballet (4-6 years old) A class for boys to learn ballet in a masculine style and in an environment where they will feel comfortable learning ballet with other boys.  Our pre-school age classes are an imaginative introduction to dance for the 4-6 year old boy. The basic elements of ballet technique are introduced in a positive and nurturing environment using creative masculine props and themes. Some of the themes that are explored are super heroes, cowboys, pirates, Star-wars, Knights, sports, and holidays. This class is currently after school.

BOYS ONLY Ballet Classes:  For boys to learn ballet in a masculine style and in an environment where they will feel more comfortable with other boys and a male teacher.  We have 3 classes with several boys in each for Beginning and Intermediate levels. 

Men's Ballet classes: For teens and men to learn ballet in a masculine style and gain strength and technique for partnering. 

*** PAS DE DEUX CLASSES ***

Beginning Partnering- (Teens and Adults class) - ages 14 and up Co-ed. No cost for Male dancers

Intermediate Partnering/Pas de deux class - ages 10 and up Co-ed. No cost for Male dancers

Advanced Partnering/Pas de Deux Class - For Advanced Pointe students and male students with significant partnering experience. No cost for Male dancers.


*** SPECIALTY TECHNIQUE CLASSES ***

Turns and Leaps (ages 12 and up) - This class helps to increase flexibility, core strength. spotting, leg strength and extension. This specialized class improves technique when executing variety of leaps, jumps, sissonne, chaînès, pirouettes, fouettès, etc.  The ability to jump and turn correctly is very crucial to a dancer’s technical progress.  This is a non-performance class. Also Turns and Leaps Kids (ages 8-11)

Progressing Ballet Technique (ages 12 and up) - PBT is a revolutionary program that helps in training muscle memory to assist dancers in achieving their best in ballet training. It involves training with equipment such as a large exercise ball, small soft stability ball, resistance bands, lacrosse ball, and a BOSU Ball. PBT training strengthens turnout muscles and improves correct body placement and alignment. This is a non-performance class.  
Dancers must bring their own Yoga Mat, resistance bands, and lacrosse ball.

Conditioning and Stretching (ages 12 and up) - This class focuses on conditioning techniques to help strengthen the body and protect against injuries. Conditioning is extremely important to achieve an advanced level in ballet. A conditioning class involves strengthening exercises and stretching for a much longer period of times than is permitted in the traditional ballet class and therefore achieves tremendous results. This is a non-performance class.  No previous dance experience required.  Dancers must bring their own Yoga Mat, resistance bands, and lacrosse ball.

Mat Pilates for Ballet (ages 12 and up) - Pilates is a wonderful exercise and strengthening option for dancers because it builds long, lean muscles and strengthens the entire core. A dancer can greatly benefit from adding Pilates into his or her daily exercise routine. Pilates is the perfect companion to ballet technique classes. This is a non-performance class.  No previous dance experience required.
Dancers must bring their own Yoga Mat, resistance bands, and lacrosse ball.

Private lessons - One on one personal instruction is a valuable experience that can improve a dancer's technique very quickly.  Through private lessons, dancers are able to work on improving as a dancer through specific individualized technique corrections, stretching suggestions, core conditioning exercises and targeted strengthening that is very specific to them and their personal needs. Private lessons are available as a single one time lesson, once monthly lessons or weekly lessons. Our target audience is our Pre-Pointe and Pointe classes, to help them to become stronger to increase pointe shoe readiness and to improve pointe technique for anyone who feels they are struggling, but other ages are welcome to have this experience too. Private lesson prices are the same regardless of instructor and payments should be made to En Pointe. $40 per hour or $30 for 1/2 hour.   


*** CLASSES FOR ADULTS ***

(ages 18 and up)  

Adult Ballet - For adult students who want to improve flexibility and balance, exercise, and continue ballet training past high school.  Some students are on pointe and some are not, as there are various levels in this class. 

Classical Barre - This class is a blend of classical ballet technique, cardio, conditioning and stretching. This is a non-performance class.  No previous dance experience required.


Conditioning and Stretching (ages 12 and up) - See description above. 
Dancers must bring their own Yoga Mat, resistance bands, and lacrosse ball.




*** Summer Intensives***

(ages 13 and up)  

Our Summer Intensive is a full week of intense ballet training (4 hours each day for 6 days) made specifically to improve your ballet technique and strength. It will increase your knowledge of the Cecchetti method, improve your partnering skills, and you'll have fun while getting ahead during the summer! Our Summer Intensive curriculum consists of classes in ballet technique, pointe, men’s conditioning and technique, variations, pas de deux, stretching, character and mime, as well as lectures on injury prevention, nutrition, dance history, and Cecchetti days of the week exercises.
